The Inevitable Paradox. (#37)

Doesn't there have to be those things in life that are right and wrong, back and white, those things that are distinguishable to be epistemically flawless, there are those things that cannot be dis-proven, right? There is that something that is real, incomparable to the unreal; The truth. Or is there?

I question the nature of the truth. Truth is supposedly defined as something that cannot be dis-proven, something that is realistically correct. But how do we get these correct "truths"?

We get them from our perception, our perception is what we see, what we know, what we have experienced; it is what we have seen, and what we have essentially learned to be true. Truths are merely metaphysical representations of our believed perceptions, we believe our thoughts, and that becomes our truth.

Often, we do not question our thoughts. That may be our problem, do not believe everything you think, and do not think everything you believe. For, if you cannot vicariously see the counter-position from another perspective, then we may inevitably destroy all of our ability to coincide with others and thus, our distinction from others will manifest and we become separate and develope the distinction of "us and them; us vs them".

To see the truth, we must step back from the preconceived notions we have been provided with, and empathetically see it from the other persons shoe, so to speak; Only then will the truth be unveiled and we shall see that undoubtedly, that the only truth is that there is no truth, perception is reality, and that truth is a paradox.

Power--An Ultimatum of Human Nature (#36)

When it all comes down to it only two things are really important to the human being--two abstract concepts--power and the desire to fufill happiness (i'm going to stay concrete here and stay focused on one subject, power).

Our power is--to our perceieved notions--our ability to make decisions for ourselves, our free will, our control. We naturally crave power, and nearly everything we do can be traced down to the eventfulness of human power; being better than the other.

A preist feels that everything he says and does is rightfully true and/or justified and has that power over an individuals sense of reasoning. A fighter feels that his ability to fight gives him great power, naturally they are feared. A person with a gun feels the awe of fear and power when holding a gun. A person defending their family, uses that justification to feel some sort of power. A philosopher uses knowledge and persuasion to justify and deduce a conversation or point of view to feel a sense of superiority of control in human manipulation. A military official or soldier has that labeled social quality of being powerful. A celebrity has that sense of social control, same with a congressman or president. An activist convinces themself that their doing a rightful cause. An athlete loves their sport and what they do, and give resons to why they love it. Everything everyone likes to do, gives that someone that sense of freedom, that self control, that power.

We may not like to admit it but everything we like to think and do, is a way of showing others our power, or freewill, our ability, what we are capable of. We justify in our minds a reason to why we like to do something, but it inevitably comes down to the human nature that posses our minds; we're all true sociopaths. We tend to believe our own thoughts so heavily, that we think in terms of none, other than our own; even now this thought that i'm typing is a thought that I believe is true (a paradoxical statement), even now the responding thoughts you are producing in turn of reading this, are your thoughts that you are believeing to be true. Dont believe everything you think. Dont think everything you believe.

Power; our power, our control, our free-will, it is what we are, its what we crave, we all want some sort of power, otherwise we wouldnt be human.

Everything is Breaking Down (#35)

Besides my personal worries and dreadgeries, lately, I've been thinking about the world as a whole. With this rise in mass media and public knowledge, people are constantly bombarded with negative ads in the overal message of the news, the world as a whole seems very horrible; and guess what people, its true, the world is full of that violence and hatred, its part of human nature, but it doesnt mean that's what everything is.

This world does have to realize that we will eventually destroy ourselves, if we cannot learn to at least respect what someone else thinks. We may not like it, we may abhor it, we may think that that other individual is stupid, but if we cant respect what they think and hold back from doing something about it, then yes ultimatly we will destroy ourselves.

The more I keep reading up on the news, with the rise in technology, and the ability to do things; the rise of power seems to unfold, there are nations of people, struggling against other nations of people to destroy the other because of their thoughts: He or she isnt worthy of life because they are an infidel an dont believe the same religion or way of life as us, or they must be stopped because they dont believe in democracy and therefore are an evil people; let the spiral of death begin.

Unless someone stands up for the world as a whole, and sees past the fog of hate, sees the potential of a human being, sees the reality of the human race; sees the truth about humans, and stands up to help this world understand themselves, and see the truth, simplify their life if they want it, help them achieve a sense of happiness through their interests and desires; then unless that happens, this world will die.

The rise in technology and science seems to accentuate the ability of someone to use it's power and therefore, have more power than another individual and use it to their advantage. They hate that other persons thoughts, so instead of learning to cope with it, learing to deal with it, or reason with it, they have power, and can eliminate that thought or idea with the use of force (thats very human to do).

We will destroy ourselves unless the people as a whole stand up or someone stands up for the world as a whole and does not entirely worry about their personal dilemma's, unless someone stands up for EVERYONE, than everyone fails but himself.

The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it.
~ Ayn Rand (1905 - 1982), Atlas Shrugged, 1957

If the truth doesn't save us, what does that say about us?
